Review: Papillon

Papillon Papillon by Henri Charrière
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A very interesting read, both in to the authors life and in to the way that the French treated their criminals as well as the men who were interred while, both innocent and guilty.
Reading through his daring escapes, it makes you wonder whether or not any of it was worth it, while giving him kudos for attempting each and everyone of them. The lives that he left behind and the people that Papillon met along the way.

Review: The Diary of a Bookseller

The Diary of a Bookseller The Diary of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A quirky and interesting view in to the life of a bookseller. Seeing each day over a year, you would think that it would be a bore and quite the same, but it's not. It's fun to see how the author views and feels towards different customer's and even his own staff. It is nice to see the regular customer's who came in to the shop too as well as the way that Bythell works when buying books to stock the store with.
Reading through, I couldn't help but imagine the hallways stacked with books, the warm fire place and sitting beside it. It made me want to visit Scotland even more and visit this cozy bookshop to browse and spend money and hours lost between the shelves.
