Review: They All Love Jack: Busting the Ripper

They All Love Jack: Busting the Ripper They All Love Jack: Busting the Ripper by Bruce Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being a huge Jack the Ripper...I don't want to say fan, but I guess fan. I just love reading about him and his crimes, just like any other true crimes, so I guess boffin would be a better wording than fan.

When I first came across this book, I was instantly...I want! And so I brought it and it sat on my shelf for months, just waiting to be read. It took me a while because I was a little daunted by the size of the book itself and also because I was afraid that it would just be filled with all the things that I had already come to know about J.T.R.
But I was pleasantly surprised with They All Love Jack. It was filled with never ending pages of new information and new twists and turns which I wouldn't of ever thought about before hand, but the more I read through the book, the more little things started to make sense with some part of Jack's crimes. Having Bruce Robinson talk about the murders from a more 'Masonic' view, the thought of the police covering the murders and crimes up and trying to brush Jack's actions under the carpet while trying to protect one of their brothers was really interesting because it made sense!

Despite the large size, I would really recommend this book to anyone who is interested in finding out more about Jack the Ripper or just really in to true crimes. It would really change the way you look back on things and on how other authors always seem to write about the same things when it comes to Jack.

Review: Joyland

Joyland Joyland by Stephen King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

i think this was the quickest that I have ever read a Stephen King book, even with it being a short one. But I absolutely loved it. Joyland felt completely different to King's other books that he has written. It wasn't as choppy or filled with with an over use of words which could easily be left out. Joyland was flowing and it caught your attention easily, you were dragged in to Devin's world as he worked through Joyland over the summer.

Joyland is captivating and a sure thing when it comes to a page turner. You get dragged in to the world and you just can't do anything but sit there and continue reading. I just know that I wasn't expecting that ending! When it came to the big revel, with what was written, my mind instantly went to one person and then I was proved wrong. It's a quick fun read and one you will remember and possibly make you want to go and visit a carny the next chance you have.

Review: Strange Practice

Strange Practice Strange Practice by Vivian Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

From the moment I saw this book in a bookstore, I had been torn between buying the book and not buying the book because...well, because of vampires. So when it came across on a kindle for free, I jumped at the chance, and I have to admit, I loved the book.
From the very first moment, I was hooked on the book, At one stage, I had even read a few chapters once I had gone to bed, despite the need for sleep. It holds your attention greatly, gives you an adventure with twists and turns that you wouldn't even start to think off.
It's a book that I would greatly recommend to anyone and I can't wait to start finding out other novels by Vivian Shaw and more of Dr. Greta Helsing.
