Review: Burial Rites

Burial Rites Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A moving and intriguing novel, Hannah Kent had writing a piece of artwork which leads you in to the past and in to a world where you live in every moment, surviving in each day before something comes along and changes all that you know.

Burial Rites is that kind of book that draws you in, making you turn each page with the want of what comes next for all the characters. I like the fact that Hannah Kent has taken events from history and has twisted them in to fiction to create a softer image and to give the murderess a chance to tell her own story in a way.

A first time read of the author, I enjoyed her style of writing and story telling, of the way she chooses the right words to create a work of art. Hannah Kent is an author who I would pick up and read more of again.
